There were a variety of shops to browse and purchase, the museum was interesting and informative, there were a variety of restaurants to choose from, and the views of the lake and the nature hikes were splendid. We were impressed with the staff at the motel, shops, and restaurants as they were all very friendly and welcoming. Very nice community.

The area is fantastic. So many places to eat and go hiking. People are very nice and friendly. Come during the Autumn Glory festival in October to see the leaves, the parades and of course the food and hospitality. Never disappoints here.

This hotel is a little gem. I think it is an older hotel that was renovated. Everything is very well done. Maintains the feel of an old fashioned hotel with all the modern conveniences. I felt very much "at home." Not a high end hotel but the nicest little, moderately priced place perfectly situated for a visit to Deep Creek Lake. The room was adorable.

Swallow Falls,( and the rest of the park as well!!) Lots of cool stuff to do with the family. Everything is close and easy to get to. The food was ok, but most way overpriced and not worth the extra $$. ( Yes Uno, I'm talking to you!) If you're looking to spend time in nature, it's real hard to beat this area, and I will be returning soon.

Nice quiet town. There are multiple local businesses in and around Oakland that provided anything I may have needed. Many local restaurants and chain restaurants. There is a Walmart in the area along with a shop n save for grocery needs. Deep Creek Lake is less than 20 minutes away & easy to get to. Overall a fun & relaxing area

Very nice location and easy to get around. Close to the lake, country shops, fishing, and restaurants. Pharmacy and Sheetz gas station right down the road. Very close to our family's reunion location in Kingwood.
